eaJ 1/9 Tour — Jakarta 2025

 Here we go again. Yippieeee.

By reading the title alone, you already know very well what I’m about to write here.
YES—eaJ 1/9 Tour in Jakarta 2025.

For the record, this tour is part of the eaJ 1/9 Asia Tour, which happened after eaJ’s EP tittled "1". Around the same time, eaJ was also announced as one of the performers at Love in Seoul Festival in South Korea at the beginning of November 2025.

The tour announcement itself was pretty kabjagi.
The official announcement came out on 28 August 2025, and the concert was set to be held on 21 November 2025 (a Friday) at Basket Hall Senayan.

Me, Carli, and Sheila immediately created a group chat.

There was a little drama during ticketing. The ticket sale was supposed to be on 29 August 2025, but it got delayed to 1 September 2025 due to Indonesia’s political situation (iykyk). On top of that, the promoter initially didn’t provide a VIP category.

Fans went mad—just a little.
The promoter listened and finally added a VIP category.

Long story short, me, Carli, and Sheila decided to buy the VIP tickets. With the help of my dearest friends—Anggun, Eva, and Mba Sur—who I can always count on for ticket wars, we managed to secure the very limited VIP tickets.

Before getting into D-Day, I want to share a little about eaJ.

Other than being a musician, eaJ is also a gamer and a streamer. We often talk to Jae on Twitch while he’s live streaming. Before the tour started, Jae mentioned that after this tour, he probably wouldn’t come back to Asia for a solo concert for a while and would focus more on the North American market. He said he might still come to Asia for festivals if the opportunity comes.

Hearing that broke my little heart a bit huhuhuhu.
A year or two without seeing eaJ live? Cry. I can’t imagine.

Fast forward to D-Day.

I decided to take a day off from work since the concert was on a Friday.

After checking the timetable, I decided to arrive around 3 PM, since the VIP queue would start at 6 PM. I went by MRT, which took around an hour to reach the venue. I met Carli and Sheila there.

We exchanged tickets, bought merch (we all bought T-shirts), had milk tea, took some pictures together, and then went to queue.

We entered the venue around 6 PM and went straight to the barricade. There were only 100 people in the VIP category. Initially, VIP benefits included a soundcheck, but it was changed to a small meet & greet on D-1.

And then…
Please welcome… EAJ.

I got chills and screamed my heart out seeing him again—this close.

He greeted all of us. Even though he looked a little confused at first, he eventually stepped down from the stage and greeted everyone one by one, signing our stuff. I got lucky enough to pull out my merch and had him sign it.

The Signed Merch hahaha

ANDDDDD he was holding my marker.

CRY. SO. BAD.

After everyone got their stuff signed, he went backstage, and we waited for the show to start at 8 PM.

When the screen lit up and Indonesia Raya started playing, that was the sign—the show was about to start.

Then came Chuck, Josh, and Porter (OMG I MISSED THEM SO SO SO MUCH).
And once again… eaJ.

The first song was Right Where You Left Me. The energy was strong right from the start. I stood very close to the stage, slightly behind him—but I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH. I sang my heart out.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention—Jae’s leg wasn’t in good condition, which meant he couldn’t walk normally. But by the third song, he already went down to the right tribune area.

He never let the audience’s energy drop. His energy was way too strong.

Not long after returning to the stage, he went to the left tribune, and then even entered the floor area.

Brooooo.
CRAZYYYYY.

At one point, he said he was so happy because the audience had doubled compared to last year’s concert. He also apologized for not handing out water like he did last year hahaha.

Then he said something that made me cry ugly tears:

“eaJ started as Jae himself. Then the band came and became eaJ. And now, Jars have become eaJ too.”

Like… we are one.
We are eaJ.

At this concert, eaJ also performed Put It On Me, his recent release. The story behind this song was so deep—it was about Tasya, a Jars he met at PJF.

eaJ also performed Will I Ever (Day Bounce 1), the hidden track from the When the Rain Stops album. This was only the second time he played it live in Jakarta.

I cried listening to this song. It was just too deep.

Will I ever be enough?
Will I ever be okay?
’Cause everybody’s smiling
But I think they feel the same
Will I ever be enough?
Will I ever be okay?
’Cause everybody’s watching
Us digging our own graves
Will we ever be okay?

Jars Indonesia also prepared a fan project.

I. CRIED. MY. HEART. OUT.

You’ll Be in My Heart played, followed by clips of Jae’s journey. Chuck cried. Jae cried—though he tried to hold it in. He showed his gratitude by bowing to all of us, and then gave us a special performance: a cover of The Only Exception.

LOVE IT.

Twenty songs ended just like that.
I felt so empty after the show—but I still had the group photo session and send-off.

During the group photo session, I went in with some new friends. Jae welcomed us and asked,
How was the show, guys? Did you enjoy it?

I just gave him a thumbs up huhuhuhu.

It was short. I said thank you and briefly held his hand.

When I got off the stage, I saw Josh and Justin and asked them for a picture. They are truly the kindest human beings. For real.

After the group photo, we waited for the send-off session—not only with Jae, but with the whole band.

Before that, I also got the opportunity to take a picture with Chris, the sound engineer.

I stood on the left side, while Jae started from the right. It took a long time for him to reach us, but that gave us more time to talk with Josh, Chuck, and Porter.

I already had a picture with Josh, so I just said hi and asked him to sign my VIP card. Then came Chuck. I talked a bit with him, asked about the food he tried, and he said nasi goreng. That’s also how I found out he’s half Filipino—new knowledge hahaha.

Then came Porter.

I didn’t ask him for a sign. Instead, I told him about the PJF incident. He asked if I wanted a drumstick. I said yes.

He ran backstage for about two or three minutes and came back with his drumstick.

I asked him to sign it and asked for a hug.

The signed Drumstick by Porter

Jae is truly blessed to be surrounded by such good people.

When Jae finally reached me, everything happened so fast because the staff rushed us. I asked for a signature—he signed it, but with a board marker, and it faded not long after.

HAHAHAHA. SO FUNNY.

I didn’t get the chance to take another selfie with him, but that’s fine. We can always meet again for a selfie.

Well… that’s it.
My heart was so full.

I went home with a heavy heart, knowing I might not see him again next year.

Jae—no, I mean eaJ—thank you so much.
Please stay healthy and happy, so we can meet again in the future.

Till we meet again.
